Reconfigurable Computing Companies: Trail of the Lost Tribes
Having done research and worked in a reconfigurable computing, I find it interesting that a lot of companies reinvent the wheel. I started collecting a list of companies in this area. The list is of companies that tried (are trying) to commercialize reconfigurable computing. Not FPGA companies like Xilinx, Altera, ACTEL, etc. but companies which tried to create new architectures and tools to map computations onto some sort of programmable fabric. It could be a company that was doing both software and hardware or only hardware.
